Model-actress Sonia Kohli’s look embodies exotic appeal and New York street-style, on trend with the “East Meets West” aesthetic that is gripping the nation. Born in India and raised in the NYC metropolitan area, Sonia quickly fell in love with New York culture. Inspired by the city’s bustling entertainment and fashion scenes, Sonia is at home on the screen and in the glossy pages of magazines.

Some of the country’s most influential authorities on beauty and fashion have already taken notice of Sonia’s talent and look. Sonia’s striking appearance attracted the attention of legendary makeup artist Scott Barnes, who—based only on a photograph—chose Sonia to appear in his new book, About Face (Fair Winds Press, 2010), alongside Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian. Sonia also caught the eye of hairstylist-to-the-stars Oribe, who also achieved fame by working with Lopez. Oribe created a unique hairstyle for Sonia at a recent event in New York City.

Some of Sonia’s other achievements in the fashion and entertainment world include two appearances in Maxim, a 6-page spread in Nirvana magazine, and a commercial for tequila manufacturer Hornitos. Sonia was also named People’s Choice in the Guess “Faces to Watch” contest, and was a semifinalist in the search for the new face of Smashbox Cosmetics. To hone her acting skills, Sonia has trained with acting coach Bob Gerardi and is looking to join  New York’s HB Studio.

In Sonia’s spare time, she enjoys reading, volunteering with the elderly, playing video games, writing poetry and doing yoga. She also loves to cook and create new recipes.
